It was a massive weekend for the Pretty Top Team fight team, with five of our fighters competing across two big events in Brisbane.
From YOKKAO 51 at Nissan Arena on Saturday to the Q1 Muay Thai Series at Mansfield Tavern on Sunday, our team had a busy weekend of fights, wins, lessons and plenty to be proud of.
Most importantly, every one of our fighters represented Pretty Top Team with pride and gave it everything they had..
YOKKAO 51: Cooper & Caleb Step Into the Ring
Saturday 8th August | Nissan Arena, Brisbane QLD
Saturday saw our two Pretty Top Team pros, Cooper Clarke and Caleb Curley, compete on the prestigious YOKKAO 51 event. Both boys had put in the work throughout their fight camps and were ready to put it all together when they stepped into the ring.
Cooper Clarke — WIN
Cooper came away with a great win, adding another strong performance to his professional record. It was a big opportunity to compete on the YOKKAO 51 card, and Cooper made the most of it.
Caleb Curley — LOSS
Caleb had a tough fight and unfortunately didn't get the result he was looking for.
There is always plenty to take away from a fight like this, and Caleb can be proud of the way he stepped up and represented himself and the team.
We're extremely proud of both Cooper and Caleb for the way they represented Pretty Top Team throughout the weekend, both inside and outside the ring.
Q1 Muay Thai Series: Three More Fighters Take on the Challenge
Sunday 9th August | Mansfield Tavern, Brisbane QLD
Sunday brought another full day of action, with Shannon Anderson, Jonathan Caroprese and Tristan all competing at the Q1 Muay Thai Series. Three fighters, three different fights and plenty of experience gained along the way.
Shannon Anderson — WIN
Shannon picked up another win against a strong opponent and a great gym, continuing her unbeaten run in C-Class. With this latest victory, Shan maintains her unbeaten C-Class record, and we're incredibly proud of the work she's continuing to put in. A huge thank you also goes to Shan's family and friends, who travelled down to Brisbane to support her and the team. Having your people there on fight day makes such a difference, and we really appreciate everyone who made the trip
Jonathan Caroprese — WIN
It was a particularly big day for Jonathan, who stepped up for his first B-Class bout.
Moving into B-Class is a big milestone for any amateur fighter, and Jonathan handled the challenge extremely well, coming away with the win. A fantastic achievement for Jonathan and a great reward for all the hard work he's been putting into his training. We're excited to see what comes next for him.
Tristan Hosking — LOSS
Tristan had a very close fight, eventually losing by split points against a great opponent.
While the result didn't go his way, Tristan got a huge amount out of the fight. He gained valuable experience, handled the pressure and came away with even more confidence in himself. A big thank you to United Muay Thai & MMA for being a great gym and for giving Tristan the opportunity to compete.
The Support Behind the Team
Fight weekends take a lot of work from more than just the fighters. We also want to give a special shoutout to Bella and Alex for all their support and help throughout the fight camps and over the weekend. Your help behind the scenes and throughout fight preparation doesn't go unnoticed, and we appreciate you both so much.
Another Big Weekend for Pretty Top Team
At Pretty Top Team, we take immense pride in our people regardless of the result. Of course, we're always excited to celebrate the wins, but every fighter who steps through those ropes deserves recognition for the work, commitment and courage it takes to compete. A win is a great reward for the hard work. A loss gives you something to learn from. Either way, every fight adds to the journey.
It's already been a huge year for the Pretty Top Team fight teams, and we're incredibly proud of how our fighters have continued to step up and take on new challenges.
But we're only getting started. The teams are heading home tonight to recover, regroup and get ready for the next challenge.
A huge congratulations to Cooper, Caleb, Shannon, Jonathan and Tristan. We couldn't be prouder of every one of you.
